Victor Fries, known as Mr Freeze, is a prominent villain in the Arkham universe, specifically in the Arkham City game.
Driven by a tragic accident while researching cryogenics to cure his terminally ill wife, Nora, Victor transformed into a being unable to survive outside of sub-zero temperatures. He requires a cryogenic suit to live.
In Arkham City, Mr Freeze is initially sought out by Batman for his scientific expertise. However, their encounter quickly turns adversarial when Freeze's own agenda, related to his wife's frozen stasis and potential cure, clashes with Batman's.
Mr Freeze's first appearance was in Detective Comics #373 (1968).
